 Magistrate ordered the shutdown of Internet services in the region from 5:00 PM January 12 to  5.00 PM January 14  in a bid to prevent any law and order problems that may arise due to bandh call in the state.

According to the DM order issued on January 12, ANYA Bandh call has been declared illegal on the basis of   the judgement of Supreme court of India in the civil petition number 7728 / 29 of 1997.

The government of Arunachal Pradesh on 12th January has issued direction to suspend the mobile Internet services including WiFi services of BSNL and other private Internet service providers in the Itanagar Capital Region with effect from 5:00 PM of 12th January 2 5:00 PM 14 January to prevent occurrences of serious law and order problems likely to arise  due to the proposed 36 hours bandh call given by ANYA.

The police have apprehended some suspected protestors in connection with the Bandh call, but no  incident of violence has come to light so far, revealed reports.
