Shimla: The bright sunshine has smiled in snow -clad Shimla city and other Tourist Towns uphill across the state, cheering locals, tourists and apple growers in new year.
Kufri, Fagu, Narkanda, Chopal, Kharapathar, Chanshal, Choordhar, Sarahan,Manali, Kalpa, Kaza, Kelong beckon tourists. You can enjoy thrills and frills of skiing, snow ghasranti in one to three feet of snow in these places in bright sunshine.
The snowclearing operation is in full swing restoring the state and national highways Shimla-Narkanda-Rampur-Kinaur, Theog-Kharapathar-Rohru, Theog-Deha-Chopal road. The city transport in the circular road is yet to be resumed and machines are on the job.
DC shimla Aditya Negi monitored the snow clearance and the city roads were restored for traffic in the evening. But the upper Shimla remained cut off throughout the day today.
Negi said the snow clearing works on these roads was on and roads would be restored from traffic tomorrow.
