Jispa in Lahaul-Spiti district in Himachal

SHIMLA- Himachal Pradesh Government has sought Rs. 500 crore from Centre for promotion of eco-tourism in the Landlocked Lahaul Spitti, land of gompas and high passes now enjoying round the year road connectivity given by Atal Tunnel.  .

If one goes by the claims of  the government, It will not only help in creating necessary infrastructure for tourists but also boost the local economy.

The 8.86 km Atal Tunnel, Rohtang, has facilitates tourism in the region. Tunnel has not only made it easier for tourists to access Lahaul & Spiti but has also improved the lives of local farmers.

They no longer have to face the challenges of harsh weather and road blockades, enabling them to market their produce throughout the year.

The twin valleys of Lahaul and Spiti indeed offer a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers.

With their pristine rivers, alpine lakes, monasteries, temples, and diverse wildlife, there is much to explore and experience in this remote destination.

The State government's focus on developing the district as a preferred tourist destination is a positive step, and organizing adventure activities such as trekking expeditions, river rafting, biking, and skiing will further attract tourists.

Tourism in Lahaul & Spiti district is expected to bring socio-economic benefits to locals and provide visitors with an opportunity to explore the natural and cultural wonders of the region.
