Manali -Leh national highway from north portal of the Atal Rohtang tunnel for traffic due to the ongoing spell of heavy snowfall in Lahaul valley.
On the other hand, traffic on Theog- Chopal road between Khirli and Chharki remained disrupted, but it has been restored in the afternoon. The traffic on Theog-Narkanda and Theog-Rohru was normal, said the PWD engineers.
But the traffic on the Manali-Keylong national highway beyond North portal has come to standstill due to heavy snowfall taking place in the Lahaul valley for the last 24 hours.
DC Lahaul-Spiti Neeraj Kumar said the Highway from north portal of the Atal Rohtang, Sumdoh- Kaza road and Darcha- Shinkunla road are also closed due to snowfall. Udaipur-Tindi-Killar road is also closed for traffic due to landslide on this highway, he said.
According to the residents Sissu has recorded more than 20 inches of snow, Kaksar 20 inches till after noon. Jahalma recorded seven inches, Kaza five inches, Samdoh four inches, Udaipur 10 inches of snow recorded at 8:30 AM in the morning, said the report. It has been snowing since morning, they said.
