Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced ambitious plans to integrate modern technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the state's health services.

Presiding over a Health Department meeting, Sukhu emphasized the government's commitment to leveraging AI across various sectors and disclosed the contemplation of establishing an AI Ministry in Himachal Pradesh, a pioneering move for the country.

However, cautionary concerns arise over the potential dangers and security issues associated with the rapid adoption of AI in healthcare.

Healing touch that human hands of the doctors provide to patients and the actual needs of villagers to have access to  the expensive  health care  system access are what need to be  strengthened rather than blindly riding the AI bandwagon.

Even  the Increasing reliance  of health care professionals on AI can lead to loss of human creativity  innovation that can have far- reaching consequences.

AI,as it is,  knows no emotion, no passion, no concerns for mistakes, comment computer science engineers. The cyber security is the critical issue that AI Increasing use has brought to the forefront in the digital world.

While the state government aims to establish a groundbreaking National Cancer Center in Hamirpur, there is a need for stringent measures to safeguard sensitive health data and ensure the secure implementation of advanced technologies as announced CM.

Critics argue that the creation of an AI Ministry requires a comprehensive approach to address potential threats, such as data breaches and privacy violations.

The government must prioritize robust cybersecurity measures and regulatory frameworks to mitigate risks associated with the integration of AI in healthcare.

As the state positions itself as a trailblazer in this initiative, stakeholders emphasize the importance of balancing innovation with prudence.

Chief Minister made his announcement in the presence of Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy and  healthcare professionals.

However, experts stress the necessity for thorough risk assessments and transparent communication about potential hazards to the public.

The proposed National Cancer Center's commitment to cutting-edge technology raises expectations, but the government must prioritize the establishment of secure systems to protect patient information.

The success of Himachal Pradesh's pioneering venture into AI in healthcare will hinge on a vigilant and proactive approach to address emerging security challenges.
