Rotarians Promote Voluntary Blood Donation in Shimla
SHIMLA, September 25, 2026: The Rotary Club of Shimla Royal organised a voluntary blood donation camp at Cafe SID, Panthaghati, on Thursday, drawing participation from Rotarians and members of the public from Shimla and adjoining areas.
The camp, held in collaboration with the IGMC Blood Bank Team, collected 22 units of blood by the time the organisers issued the press note. The medical team from IGMC provided the necessary support and supervised the donation process.
The initiative was organised to mark Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jayanti and in response to the call of Rotary District 3080 for participation in a blood donation initiative aimed at creating a world-record milestone.
Past District Governor Rtn. V. P. Kalta visited the camp and interacted with donors and Rotary members. He encouraged the donors and appreciated the club's efforts to promote voluntary blood donation in the city.
Rtn. Pankaj Chauhan, Chairman–Project, coordinated the camp and led the arrangements. President Rtn. Pankaj Dadwal, Secretary Rtn. Satish Chibber and Treasurer Rtn. Arun Kumar Sharma were also present, along with other Rotarians and members who supported the initiative.
The club thanked Dr. Vipasha Vyas and the IGMC Blood Bank Team, donors and members of the public for supporting the camp and said it would continue organising service-oriented initiatives under the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”
