Devendra Kumar Sharma, Chairperson Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has been given the life time achievement award for his overall excellence and contribution in water and energy sectors by Indian Concrete Institute(ICI) in a ceremony held at Shimla today.
Dr Sharma also is a member of the National Security Advisory Board, Govt of India. He was Chairman, Bhakra Beas Management Board from April, 2017 to July, 2020.
ICI lauded his contribution in managing the assets of national importance and his specific contribution in the fields of water resources, dam safety, operation and maintenance of dams and hydroelectric projects and distribution of water and electricity to the partner states during his tenure in BBMB.
Sharma thanked ICI for conferring upon him this award and dedicated the award to his team mates, who worked with him on challenging assignments during his professional career of more than 40 years.
He also thanked his family members for their continuous support throughout his career. This award would inspire young professionals working for national water and energy security, he said.
He has worked on planning, design, construction and operation & maintenance of number of dams for irrigation and hydroelectric projects throughout the country as well as in Bhutan.
