India Scripts Rowing History: Army Duo Wins Nation's First-Ever Gold at World Rowing Cup

NEW DELHI, JULY 2: India has etched its name in world rowing history. Havildar Lakshay and Havildar Ujjwal Kumar Singh of the Indian Army's Rowing Node created a landmark moment by winning the country's first-ever gold medal at the World Rowing Cup, triumphing in the Lightweight Men's Double Sculls (LM2x) event at Lucerne, Switzerland.

The historic victory marks a watershed moment for Indian rowing, with the Army duo overcoming some of the world's strongest competitors to stand atop the podium.

Their achievement is being hailed as one of the biggest milestones in the sport for India and a testament to years of relentless discipline, endurance and teamwork.

Chief of the Army Staff, General Dhiraj Seth, felicitated both rowers and congratulated them for bringing unprecedented glory to the Indian Army and the nation.
