Actor model Harnaaz Sandhu, 21, Miss India 2019, who comes from the city beautiful of Chandigarh has been crowned Miss Universe-2021 at the world contest held at Eilat in Israel on Monday, beating contestants from 79 other countries . She brought home the Miss Universe title after 21 years. Lara Dutta, actress and model had claimed Miss Universe title in 2000.
Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira became first runner-up while Lalela Mswane, Miss South Africa was the second runner-up.
The last question that clicked her title among five top finalists was the question the organiser of the event asked from Ms Harnaaz: “ Ms. India, Many people think climate change is a hoax, what would you do to convince them otherwise”?
Harnaaz Replied. “Honestly my heart breaks to see how nature is going through a lot of problems due to our irresponsible behaviour and I totally feel that this is the time to take actions and talk less, because our action could either kill or save nature; to prevent and protect is better than repent and repair and this is what I’m trying to convince you guys today”.
