HAMIRPUR:  In A First, National Institute of Technology  Hamirpur,  an institute of national Importance in Himachal Pradesh has made a cut by getting a place in the prestigious Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2021 released by Ministry of Education, Government of India. NIT Hamirpur is only second to IIT Mandi from Himachal Pradesh, which has got a place in the prestigious list  among over 674 Institutes  from across the country that participated in this ranking. 

ARIIA is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions in India on indicators related to Innovation, start-up and Entrepreneurship Development amongst students and faculty. 

NTI Director Prof. Lalit Awasthi gave credit to all faculty, students and staff members of NIT Hamirpur for this big achievement saying  everyone will be putting their efforts to enhance the reputation and perception of the institution. “I am of firm belief that with the continuous efforts from faculty, staff & students we will regain our position in top institutions in the country and will be able to make a mark internationally as well”, he said.

This milestone is an outcome of relentless and continuous  focus of NIT Hamirpur on fostering innovation, startup culture, competitive spirit, better teaching & research Environment and  encouraging students to solve real-life industrial problems. 

 NIT Hamirpur has taken excellent initiatives in filing Patents, Copyright Design, Quality Measures and implemented recommendations of NEP-2020. Institute has been able to secure more than 40 research and development projects.

NIT Hamirpur  is one of the higher educational institutions of the state. It has made a big jump by securing a place in the ranking of ARIIA for the first time. NIT Hamirpur is making all out efforts in improving the image that has been tainted due to the bad reputation and fallen ranking of the Institute during previous tenure, stated Registrar, NIT.

According to the information received, 674 institutes have participated in the current edition of ARIIA 2020-21. NIT Hamirpur is only second to IIT Mandi from Himachal Pradesh to be included in the prestigious list of Institutes.

The participating institutions from across the country were divided into five categories in ARIIA's ranking competition. Out of which, NIT Hamirpur has secured its place in the “brand-promising category” for the first time.

All these good initiatives and efforts of NIT Hamirpur have resulted in ARIIA ranking. This ranking is being seen as a major achievement at NIT Hamirpur after being ranked in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements.
