SHIMLA: Tanuja Kanwar from Shimla has been selected for the Indian women's international cricket team, bringing immense pride to the entire state.

Tanuja comes from  Balag, Kuthar village of Theog  Tehsil of Shimla district. She  had  debuted in Asia Cup for the Indian Women's Cricket Team. In the first match, Tanuja tool one  important wicket by giving 14 runs in 4 hours

 It's a moment of great honour for all the residents, as the daughters of Himachal continue to excel not just in sports but in various other fields as well.

Tanuja Thakur is Third female cricketer in row from Shimla District after Sushma Verma and Renuka Thakur. 

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu congratulated Tanuja on her achievement, saying, "It's a proud moment for the entire state.

"Our daughters are making remarkable strides in sports and other fields, showcasing the true spirit of Himachal. I am confident that Tanuja will make significant contributions to the Indian cricket team. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to her."
