CBI Court Orders Attachment of Senior Passport Officer’s Properties in DA Case
Ghaziabad, Sept 17 — In a major development, the Special CBI Court in Ghaziabad on Tuesday ordered the attachment of two properties belonging to a Senior Passport Superintendent, currently posted at the Regional Passport Office, Mumbai, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The CBI had registered a case against the officer on March 24, 2025, alleging that during the probe period from July 30, 2018, to September 30, 2024, he amassed assets worth ₹85.06 lakh — 146.43% beyond his known sources of income.
During searches at his residence, investigators reportedly recovered around ₹60 lakh in unaccounted cash, documents of investments in immovable properties, and records of high-value expenditures.
The inquiry further revealed that the officer had invested in two properties beyond his legitimate income — a residential flat in Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad, and a commercial shop in Greater Noida West, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Acting on the CBI’s plea, the court passed an interim order directing attachment of the two properties.
