Manali:  Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the National Level Winter Carnival at Manali, marking the beginning of a five-day celebration.

Hot on the heels of  Shimla carnival Manali carnival kicked off with a vibrant parade featuring over 250 Mahila Mandals and cultural troupes from Himachal Pradesh and other states, showcasing diverse traditions and cultures.

During the ceremony, CM Sukhu announced a boost in the 'Protsahan Rashi' (incentive) for Mahila Mandals, raising it from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000.

He also pledged Rs. 10 crore for a new bridge near 15 Meel in Manali and revealed plans for the renovation of Rohtang Manalsu Tourism Hotel.

Chief Minister said Manali would be hosting skiing events soon.

Addressing the past year's disasters, CM Sukhu highlighted the significant losses in Kullu district and criticized State BJP leaders for their response.

He emphasized the State Government's commitment to disaster relief, citing a Rs. 4500 crore special relief package for affected families.

The government has initiated the second phase of the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-Up Scheme, encouraging solar projects.

Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh praised the Winter Carnival for showcasing the region's rich culture and traditions.

He acknowledged women's positive contributions and lauded the Chief Minister's efforts in disaster relief and rescue operations.

The carnival will feature events such as Winter Queen, Voice of Carnival, and Mahanatti (Folk Dance) of women.

Tourists from across India are expected to flock to Manali for this cultural extravaganza.

MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister, praising his response during disasters and appreciating the generous donation to Aapda Rahat Kosh.
