Caught Red-Handed: 4 Solan Cops Suspended After Viral Liquor-Buying Video While in Uniform

Four policemen from Solan district learned this the hard way after a video of them buying liquor in uniform went viral on social media.
The video was reportedly shot while the cops were returning from Escorts duty with CM Sukhu in Chandigarh.
Senior police officials confirmed that all four personnel have been suspended with immediate effect.
“What kind of example were they setting? While Himachal Police is running campaigns against illegal liquor trade and promoting road safety, these men were doing the exact opposite—and in uniform no less,” said a top-ranking officer on condition of anonymity.
The suspension order comes as the department grapples with growing public anger over rising instances of law enforcers flouting the very norms they’re sworn to uphold.
The incident has not just embarrassed the Solan police department and CM’s Escorts but also raised serious questions about the discipline and accountability of those entrusted with VIP security.
Sources say an internal inquiry is underway and stricter action could follow.
