Shimla, July 17: In an initiative, a newly-formed NGO — Help Himachal Trust — is stepping up for the people of Shimla with a free multispeciality health check-up camp on July 20 at Hans Satsang Mandir, Sanjauli.
The Trust, launched by Kusum Janartha and a team of likeminded individuals, may be new, but its work speaks volumes.
From distributing benches in government schools of remote areas like Chopal and Theog, to organizing an anti-drug campaign in Sanjauli — the group has quietly been working to bring real change at the grassroots level.
“Our idea is simple — to help wherever we can. Health is a basic need, and many in our hill communities miss out on timely checkups.
This camp is a small step to fill that gap,” said Kusum Janartha, founder of the Trust, a retired teacher, who is the wife of Shimla’s sitting Congress MLA Harish Janartha.
The upcoming camp will bring together a team of top doctors of the likes of Dr PC Negi and others across specialties to provide consultations and health advice free of cost.
Locals are being urged to spread the word and bring along elderly family members, women, and children — especially those who don’t have easy access to hospitals.
In a time when most headlines are about problems, Help Himachal Trust is quietly proving that solutions are still possible — one act of kindness at a time.
