Shimla, March 22: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, the Himachal Pradesh Police has busted a high-value interstate LSD racket operating from Bengaluru to Kullu and Shimla, while taking unprecedented action against its own ranks by dismissing four police personnel allegedly involved in the case.

The case, registered as FIR No. 14/2026 on March 10 at New Shimla Police Station under the NDPS Act, initially led to the arrest of two  accused , newly weds from Sirmaur and Moga and recovery of 562 LSD strips (approximately 11.57 grams), valued in crores in the illegal market.

However, the investigation soon snowballed into a much larger expose.

According to polcie, probe findings revealed a well-organized interstate drug cartel, using courier services, digital platforms, and banking channels to run a sophisticated supply chain from Bengaluru into Himachal Pradesh.

Investigators relied on technical evidence including CCTV footage, call detail records, location tracking, and financial transactions to map the network.

In a shocking twist, the investigation also uncovered the alleged involvement of four personnel from STF Kullu.

Acting swiftly, the Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari ordered the immediate dismissal of Head Constables Rajesh Kumar and Sameer Kumar, along with Constables Nitesh Kumar and Ashok Kumar.

The action was taken under Article 311(2)(b) of the Constitution of India, allowing dismissal without departmental inquiry in cases of grave misconduct.

DGP Ashok Tiwari said that the police force is operating under a strict zero-tolerance policy against drugs and corruption.

He made it clear that no one within the department is above the law, and any involvement in activities endangering society—especially the youth—will invite the harshest action.

This instant action —cracking a major drug cartel while cleansing internal ranks—signals a strong shift in Himachal Pradesh Police’s strategy to dismantle organized narcotics networks at a national level.

Further investigations are underway to trace the wider national and possible international links of the racket, with more arrests likely in the coming days.

Police have also urged citizens to actively support the anti-drug campaign by reporting suspicious activities, emphasizing that public participation is crucial in building a drug-free Himachal.
