Sukhu pitches Himachal as global investment hub
SHIMLA, Sept 24 – Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has invited the investors to Himachal Pradesh in diverse sectors from tourism and green energy.
The main purpose of the CM's visit to London was to accompany his daughter for her admission in the London school of Economics.
Speaking at a summit hosted by the Indo-European Business Forum (IEBF), Sukhu showcased Himachal as a “land of trust, resilience, and opportunity” while wooing investors in clean energy, IT, responsible tourism, horticulture, and wellness sectors.
Sukhu underlined that Himachal’s push for systemic reforms under his “Vyavastha Parivartan se Aatmanirbhar Himachal” vision is not mere rhetoric but a roadmap to transform the hill state into a hub of sustainable growth.
“We are moving towards clean and green energy, data storage, food processing, and natural farming. Himachal is ready for global partnerships,” he said.
The CM reminded delegates of Himachal’s achievements — from 100% literacy to leadership in hydropower — and cited the global reputation of Himachal apples while pitching organic vegetables, floriculture, and dairy-based initiatives as the state’s next big exports.
He also urged European investors to explore opportunities in wellness and sustainable lifestyles, promising “partnerships built on trust and shared values.”
On the occasion, Sukhu was honoured with IEBF’s Leadership and Governance Award, recognising his “visionary and transformative” policies.
The event saw the presence of IEBF founder Vijay Goel, Lord David Evans, UK ministers Kanishka Narayan and Seema Malhotra, Virender Sharma, Ghana’s High Commissioner Samuel Mahama, and dignitaries from Sri Lanka and India.
But it remains to be whether he will be able position Himachal at the intersection of European expertise and Indian aspirations.
