Indian Army Breaks Ice, Reopens Route to Shri Hemkund Sahib

Cutting through ice-packed cliffs and high-altitude danger, the Indian Army has once again cleared the snow-choked trail to Shri Hemkund Sahib, ensuring that the pilgrimage kicked off on time this year.
The IBEX Sappers of the Uttar Bharat Area battled freezing winds and a six-kilometre-long glacier belt, carving a path at over 15,000 feet above sea level.
Armed with steel nerves and unshakable willpower, the team raced against time to reopen the sacred route.
The Shri Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara committee lauded the Army’s mission, calling it a symbol of pure service and dedication.
A heartfelt tribute was offered to the jawans whose backbreaking work made the yatra possible.
