The tragic fire incident has sounded a wake-up call for all hospitals in country  as winter approaches when heating system are used widely in the hospitals. 

 The incident reportedly began due to a short circuit in an air-conditioning unit of of the neonatal unit.

Despite efforts by hospital staff, patients, and local authorities, the flames spread rapidly, and rescue efforts could not save the neonatal victims​​​​.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and announced compensation of ₹4 lakh for the families of the deceased.

He also directed the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the incident and ensure accountability. Initial findings suggest lapses in fire safety protocols.

The incident has raised alarm across medical institutions in India, with fire safety measures under scrutiny.

Recognizing the urgency, health experts from neighboring Himalayan states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have called for an immediate review of fire safety systems in all hospitals.

Authorities in these states have emphasized the need for regular fire drills, functional equipment, and updated safety audits to prevent such tragedies.

This heartbreaking event highlights the critical importance of robust infrastructure and preparedness in healthcare facilities. Further investigations will determine the exact cause and provide recommendations to avert future disasters.
