Dehradun, July 31: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the flood-ravaged areas of Budha Kedar and Teengrah village in Tihri district, offering solace and assurance to the affected families.
During his visit to the temporary relief camps in Tehri, CM Dhami interacted with disaster victims to understand their conditions and needs firsthand.
Following his visit, CM Dhami announced the commencement of the relocation process for the disaster-stricken village of Teengrah. "Our government is committed to providing every possible assistance to the families affected by this disaster," he said.
The floods have caused significant damage, with over 150 homes destroyed and more than 500 people displaced in Budha Kedar and Teengrah village. Agricultural land and infrastructure have also been severely affected, with losses estimated to be in the crores.
CM Dhami emphasized the government's focus on ensuring proper arrangements for vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. He instructed the relevant authorities to prioritize the needs of these groups in the relief efforts. "We stand with every resident of the state in any situation," CM Dhami affirmed, reinforcing the government's dedication to supporting those impacted by the floods.
The official report from the Uttarakhand government detailed the extensive damages in Budha Kedar and Tihri, underscoring the urgency of the relief operations.
Efforts are underway to provide temporary housing, food, and medical care to the displaced families.
