SHIMLA: THE historic Ridge came alive as Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla unfurled the Tricolour during the 76th Republic Day celebrations. The Governor took salute at an impressive march past led by Lt. Gagandeep Chauhan of 22 Jammu & Kashmir Rifles.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, along with other dignitaries, attended the event. Contingents from the Army, ITBP, State Police, Home Guards, Fire Services, and NCC participated in the parade.
Tableaux showcasing development initiatives and cultural performances by troupes from Kinnaur, Hamirpur, Shimla, Mandi, and North Zone Cultural Center groups from Rajasthan and Uttarakhand added color to the occasion.
Prominent figures, including Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur and senior officials, were present to witness the celebrations.
