The elevation comes as a recognition of Gupta's exemplary service in her field.

Despite nearing retirement age this month, Aarti Gupta is known for her humility and inclusive approach.

The entire cadre of the Public Relations department has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for providing Aarti Gupta with the opportunity to serve as Director.

She's been part of the department for 33 years, starting as an Assistant Public Relations Officer in 1991.

Over the years, she worked her way up, passing commission exams, and holding various positions until she was appointed Director.

Aarti Gupta expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for believing in her.

Her promotion has sparked optimism and boosted morale within the department.

Currently,  Rajiv Kumar, serving as Additional Personal Assistant to the Chief Minister, holds additional charge of the Director of Public Relations.

However, Gupta's elevation signifies a significant step towards gender diversity and empowerment within the department.
