The decision came following recommendations from the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting held on October 16, 2024. These promotions were cleared with immediate effect by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

The promoted officers, some of whom have been in line for promotion for an extended period, include Desh Raj, Kamal Kishore, Rajesh Kumar, Nazir Singh, Gurdial Singh, Rattan Sing,  Puran Ram.

Others promoted to Range Forest Officer rank include Waqaram Singh, Santosh Kumar,Sher Singh, Anil Kumar, Virender Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Nainder Kumar, and Sat Pal, alongside several others who have dedicated years to forestry in the state.

While most officers received unconditional promotion orders, the promotion of Neelam Kumari, listed at Serial No. 17, is contingent on a pending court outcome in CWPOA No. 4384/2020.

The department clarified that the promoted officers would take up their new assignments at their current postings within 10 days, though detailed posting orders will follow shortly.

The promoted officers will serve a two-year probationary period and must confirm their pay fixation within a month. Kamlesh Kumar Pant, Additional Chief Secretary (Forest), issued the orders, signaling an end to a prolonged wait for these officers’ career advancement.
