These massive trollas  have been involved in numerous major accidents, causing significant damage to vehicles, and leading to fatal injuries and even deaths.

In one recent incident, a trolla traveling from Theog to Parala lost control when its brakes failed.

It hit a parked vehicle that plunged into a deep gorge. It also smashed  four other vehicles parked on road sides that killed two people on August 8-9 in 2024

In another case, a trolla from Dhalli to Chandigarh collided with over a dozen vehicles, leaving the family of folk singer Vicky Chauhan with severe injuries. Miraculously, they survived.

Apple farmers and local bodies are now calling for a complete ban on these tralla arguing that they are too big and unsuitable for the steep, curvy mountain roads.

Overloaded trollas carrying up to 800 to 1,000 cartons often fail to negotiate sharp turns, leading to accidents.

The stretch between Charabra and Dhalli sees these trucks overturning year after year, endangering lives.

Commuters have also raised concerns about the damage these trolleys cause to the roads.

The routes between Sainj and Parala Mandi have been left in shambles, with potholes and muddy waters making travel even more perilous.

Locals are demanding that these trollas  be restricted to Solan, ensuring the safety of those traveling in the uphills.

The district collector has yet  to take call on this.
