Speaking at a virtual gathering in Shahpur from Chandigarh, Sukhu wasted no time in highlighting the failures of the former Jai Ram Thakur government in management of the  financial matters of  the state.

He, in fact  has been blaming the BJP regime at every forum  for not generating  extra financial resources to keep  state economy moving and taking care of its needs of development and expenditure.

Emphasizing the urgency to address the issue, Sukhu revealed the formation of a Cabinet Sub-Committee, headed by Agriculture Minister Prof. Chander Kumar, to pursue Himachal Pradesh's rightful 7.19 percent share in Chandigarh.

Pledging to champion the state's concerns on appropriate platforms, the Chief Minister appealed for the support of the BJP in this endeavor.

"With no significant investments made during the tenure of the previous BJP government, except for depleting the state's resources, it is high time we rectify the damage," Sukhu declared during the virtual foundation stone laying ceremony of the Modern Police Station in Shahpur.

Inclement weather conditions prevented him from attending the event in person.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to develop Kangra district as the "Tourism Capital" of the State, aiming to attract international and domestic tourists.

To achieve this goal, plans are underway to expand the Kangra airport, with the state government initiating the land acquisition process.

Sukhu assured the displaced people that government land would be provided to them to prevent homelessness.

Focusing on enhancing air connectivity, Sukhu mentioned the construction of a chopper hangar in Palampur and efforts to improve overall air transportation in the region.

The government has also allocated funds amounting to Rs. 70 crore for the Shahpur-Fatehpur road project and provided financial support to Rehan

Ironically, despite the challenging economic condition of the state, the Chief Minister assured the public that there would be no shortage of funds for development initiatives.

As he steers the helm of the state, all eyes will be on his administration's actions to fulfill the promises made.
