The incident, which occurred 16 km from Darcha, has rendered both the old and new bridges impassable.

The Border Roads Organization (BRO) 108 RCC is on-site, assessing the damage and commencing repair work.

Early estimates suggest that it will take 2-3 days to restore the bridges and reopen the road for traffic.

Travelers are advised to avoid the Darcha to Shinkula road until it is declared safe.

Local authorities have issued an advisory urging travelers to plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience and to stay updated on the latest developments regarding road restoration.

While the cloudburst has caused considerable disruption, the police have confirmed that there have been no other reported damages or casualties in the Lahaul-Spiti region.

Due to continuous stone falls, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has faced delays in clearing the road. Consequently, around 22 vehicles, including eight heavy motor vehicles (HMVs), three taxis, and several campers, are stranded in Tindi.

In collaboration with the local authorities, the stranded individuals have been accommodated in various facilities.

The Public Works Department (PWD) Rest House, Forest Rest House, and Rohan Homestay have collectively provided 10 rooms.

Additionally, some people are staying with their relatives in the area.

 Superintendent of Police for Lahaul and Spiti has confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that no one faces any difficulties.
