The Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to providing world-class cancer treatment, promising cutting-edge technologies like IMRT, IGRT, and VMAT soon at IGMC.

A CT Simulator worth Rs. 7.77 crore has been installed, while a LINAC machine, costing Rs. 24 crore, is expected to be operational by January 2025.

Sukhu also revealed plans to install a Rs. 20 crore PET scan machine at IGMC for early cancer detection.

He stressed that timely treatment can cure cancer and announced a center of excellence for cancer care in Hamirpur, alongside a state-level specialist committee to guide treatment advancements.

Raising concerns over the rising cancer cases in Himachal, which ranks second after the North-East in incidence rates, Sukhu criticized the previous BJP government for neglecting health infrastructure.

He assured that his government is rectifying the situation by recruiting doctors and paramedical staff, aiming to meet global healthcare standards. Within a year, he projected IGMC Shimla and Tanda Medical College to rank among the top medical institutions.

Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, CPS Sanjay Awasthy, MLA Harish Janartha, and other dignitaries were present during the event.
