SHIMLA: Dr. Atul Verma, IPS (HP-1991), has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Himachal Pradesh.
This appointment comes after the retirement of Sanjay Kundu. Dr. Verma, who previously served as the Director General of CID, Himachal Pradesh, will now take charge as the head of the state police force in the public interest.
The notification of Dr. Verma's appointment was issued by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, with immediate effect today on May 1.
Dr Atul Verma is a 1992 Batch Police officer.
The order places Dr. Atul Verma in the Apex Scale Level-17 in the Pay Matrix.
