The state tax and excise commissioner Yunus said the department was continuously taking action against the traders of illegal liquor. In continuation of this, the department has taken major action in Sirmaur district after the detecting irregularities  by liquor factory. 

He said that for some time the department was investigating irregularities committed by a liquor factory located at Nariwala, Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district. This high-level investigation found irregularities and lapses in the making, handling and transportation of alcohol.

It was also found that the said beverages company carried about 900 boxes of liquor without any valid pass/permit, he said. Apart from this, it was also found that the said company had repeatedly violated the terms and conditions of the license and penal action had already been taken with heavy fine.

 It is worth mentioning that a few days back also, the Nurpur team of the Excise Department had taken joint action against the illegal liquor makers in the border area Chhanni Valley adjoining Punjab. The department was getting information about making illegal liquor in this area. Despite being a border area, the department took action in this area and about 85000 liters of raw liquor was destroyed after completing the legal process,  he said.

Yunus informed that the department was taking strict action against those who make illegal liquor and this  crusade will continue in future also.
