New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, fugitive Joginder Gyong, wanted in multiple states including Haryana for murder, criminal conspiracy, and other heinous crimes, has been brought back to India from the Philippines through INTERPOL channels.

Gyong had been evading Indian authorities for a long time, finding refuge overseas.

However, coordinated efforts between Indian law enforcement and INTERPOL led to his return, marking a significant success in cracking down on transnational fugitives.

Officials confirmed that Gyong was under a Red Notice, an international alert issued to track and arrest fugitives wanted for prosecution.

Haryana police, along with other state agencies, had been on his trail for his alleged involvement in organized crime and violent offenses.

He has been taken into custody and is now facing legal proceedings. Authorities are expected to interrogate him further regarding his criminal network and pending cases.

This extradition underscores India's growing international cooperation in tackling fugitive criminals, ensuring they face justice irrespective of where they hide.
