Army chief Dwivedi

**New Delhi, June 30, 2024**: General Upendra Dwivedi, recipient of the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), has officially taken over as the 30th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Indian Army. He succeeded General Manoj Pande in a formal ceremony held in the national capital.

General Dwivedi brings a wealth of strategic acumen and operational experience, having navigated challenging scenarios and diverse terrains throughout his distinguished career. His appointment is expected to advance the ongoing transformation and modernization of the Indian Army, focusing on enhancing operational capabilities and strategic readiness.
