Shimla: In a display of unparalleled courage and selflessness, a young hero  Ritik from Chopal risked his own life to save two young girls from the clutches of an oncoming train.

The various seva Samitis from Chopal have urged CM HP Governor to support Ritik and recommends his name for the national Bravery award and direct Railways to give him a secure job in Himachal so that his handicap does not come on his way to feed his family. 

The incident unfolded in Solan on April 8  where Ritik displaying remarkable bravery, lost his feet in the process of rescuing the girls from the path of the speeding train.

Ritik comes from  Gagna village in Chopal and had come to Solan in search of Job.

He saw two little girls trapped on narrow track when the train from Shimla was approaching at around 8.24 pm on April 8.

He raced towards them pulled them out from the track but his both feet were crushed by the moving train. 

He was rushed to PGI where his leg was amputated while the fate of other feet is unknown as he has to undergo surgery.

The girls are safe, while one got hurt and is under treatment at IGMC Shimla.

The entire state of Himachal Pradesh reverberates with pride for the valorous act of Ritik, hailing him as a true embodiment of heroism.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu extended heartfelt commendations to Ritik for his extraordinary bravery, acknowledging his selfless sacrifice to ensure the safety of others.

As a testament to his indomitable spirit, Ritesh remains hospitalized, battling trauma from the harrowing ordeal.

However, his heroic deed serves as an inspiration to the entire humanity, embodying the essence of courage and sacrifice that defines the ethos of Himachal Pradesh.

Amidst the accolades and tributes pouring in for Ritvik, the state government has yet   to help him for recovery at PGI for his bravery.

He needs financial support.  CAA Chopal has donated Rs 43000 for his treatment so far, Saud Sunnyraj Banchaik from Shantha. But needs more support and a secure government job to support him.
