Shimla: Himachal Pradesh saw a significant voter turnout for the Lok Sabha elections, with an overall participation rate of 71 to 72  percent. 

Breaking down the numbers by constituency, Hamirpur reported a turnout of 70.90%, Kangra saw 69.07%, Mandi recorded 69.07%, and Shimla had a turnout of 67.50%.

In Kullu district, voter turnout reached 70.02% by 5 PM. Notably, the polling station at Tashigang, known as the highest polling station in the world, recorded an impressive 79.03% voter turnout.

This high level of engagement indicates strong voter interest and participation across the state as the battle for the Lok Sabha seats continues..

In the Karsog Assembly constituency, elderly voters received a warm welcome at the model polling station 81-Mamel-1. They were greeted with garlands and traditional drumming as they arrived to cast their votes.

The Chief Electoral Officer noted that such gestures aim to encourage voter participation and make the voting experience more enjoyable for everyone.
