The accused had allegedly demanded the bribe from Ankit Verma, a resident of Hatnala in Chamba district, in exchange for releasing his remuneration. Following a complaint filed by Verma, the vigilance team laid a trap and caught Gill in the act.

A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018, has been registered against Gill at the SV&ACB police station in Chamba. The bureau has assured strict action and urged citizens to report any instances of corruption.
