This significant event, governed by the Consortium of National Law Universities, witnessed participation from candidates eager to secure admissions into prestigious National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.

CLAT, a renowned national-level entrance examination, serves as the gateway for aspirants seeking enrollment in both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 24 NLUs.

The rigorous exam, conducted under the Himachal Pradesh National Law University Act No.16 of 2016, is a crucial step for those eyeing a legal education and a subsequent career in law.

Professor Nishtha Jaswal, the Vice Chancellor of HPNLU Shimla and the Zonal Coordinator for CLAT 2024, expressed her observations regarding the increasing number of CLAT aspirants hailing from Himachal Pradesh.

This upward trend reflects a growing awareness among students and parents in the state about the significance of legal education and the promising career prospects in the field of law.

A total of 314 candidates, consisting of 204 UG and 110 PG aspirants, were accommodated at the HPNLU Centre for the CLAT 2024 examinations.

Noteworthy is the higher representation of female candidates, indicating a positive shift in gender dynamics within the field of legal education.

As the results unfold, the successful candidates will pave their way into the 5-year integrated LLB and one-year LL.M. programs, marking the beginning of the Academic Year 2024-2025.
