Shimla, March 8: The results of various postgraduate examinations declared by Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) have shown an impressive pass percentage across several departments, reflecting a growing enthusiasm among students—particularly women—for higher education.
According to a notification issued by the office of the Controller of Examinations, the results relate to the November–December 2025 examinations of different MA programmes conducted by the university.
The results indicate an overall high academic performance. In M.A. Geography, the pass percentage remained extremely high, with 100 percent success in the first semester and 99.09 percent in the third semester.
Similarly, M.A. English recorded 98.51 percent pass in the first semester and 99.31 percent in the third semester.
The M.A. Political Science programme, which saw one of the largest numbers of students appearing for the exams, also reported encouraging results with 98.99 percent pass in the first semester and 98.03 percent in the third semester.
In M.A. Public Administration, 99.29 percent of students cleared the first semester, while 97.76 percent passed the third semester examination.
Meanwhile, M.A. Rural Development recorded 84.62 percent pass in the first semester, while the third semester achieved a perfect 100 percent result, though the number of students appearing was relatively smaller.
The university also released the results of MCA (Regular Batch) where the third semester recorded a perfect 100 percent pass rate, while the first semester achieved 99.53 percent success.
Academic circles in the university say that the consistently high pass percentages reflect a growing seriousness among students toward postgraduate education.
Officials also pointed out that a large proportion of the successful candidates are women, underlining the increasing participation of female students in higher studies in Himachal Pradesh.
The results have been uploaded on the university portal and students can check their individual results through their login IDs, the notification issued by Controller of Examinations Prof. Shyam Lal Kaushal said.
