Shimla, July 10, 2024: The recently conducted bye-elections in Himachal Pradesh witnessed a commendable voter turnout, with Nalagarh Assembly Constituency leading at nearly 79.03 percent, followed closely by Hamirpur and Dehra.

Nalagarh: Nearly 79.03%

- Hamirpur: 67.7%

- Dehra:  65.42%

Chief Electoral Officer Maneesh Garg expressed gratitude to the voters for their enthusiastic participation, attributing the high turnout to effective efforts by the Election Commission of India and the Himachal Election Department.

Garg highlighted the inclusive nature of the turnout, noting significant participation from first-time voters, senior citizens, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD). Home voting facilities were availed by 1523 elderly voters and 348 PwD voters.

Security measures ensured a peaceful election environment, with no reported incidents.

A total of 13 candidates contested across the three constituencies, including two women.

The strict implementation of the model code of conduct led to significant seizures by enforcement agencies, amounting to approximately 3.4 crore.
