Joginder Nagar: Frustrated by rising thefts and the spread of chitta (heroin), residents of Joginder Nagar, led by Himachal Kisan Sabha’s Kushal Bhardwaj, launched the "Chori Aur Chitta Roko Abhiyan" with a massive protest in Chauntra. Hundreds joined the rally, demanding strict action against thieves and drug dealers.

Protesters marched from Sukka Bagh Mela ground to the police outpost, delivering memorandums to the Chief Minister and DGP, urging immediate intervention.

Bhardwaj criticized the police for failing to catch most thieves, leading to a surge in crimes, and slammed local vigilantes for targeting specific communities and migrant workers, further spreading fear.

The demands are clear: more police staffing, increased patrolling, and an end to the spread of chitta.

The protestors also called for strict action against those spreading communal hatred. The message is sharp—Joginder Nagar won’t tolerate this any longer, and the authorities must act now.
