Seasonal Flu guidelines

SHIMLA: As seasonal flu cases surge across the country, the Health Ministry has issued an urgent call to action, asking the public to take immediate precautions to stop the spread.

The ministry emphasized the importance of managing symptoms early and following strict preventive measures, including:

- Wearing Masks:Always wear a mask in public places to reduce the risk of transmission.

- Regular Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

- Avoid Crowded Places: Steer clear of crowded areas where the flu virus can easily spread.

- Isolate If Unwell: If you experience flu symptoms, self-isolate and seek medical advice promptly.

- Get Vaccinated: Protect yourself by getting the seasonal flu vaccine, especially if you're in a high-risk group.

- Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Use a tissue or your elbow to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and dispose of tissues immediately.

The ministry also highlighted the importance of staying informed about Mpox, a viral illness that can be managed with supportive care.

To prevent its spread, people should recognize symptoms early, practice good hygiene, and avoid contact with infected individuals.

Stay informed, stay protected, and let's work together to halt the spread of these viral threats!
