high spots of Khirki, Chharki and Atal Tunnel, Lahaul-Spiti, Sangla, Kalpa in Kinnaur and Kaza in Spiti was blessed with snowfall. The rivers Giri Ganga, Pabbar, tributaries of Yamuna, and Beas, Satluj rivers were in Spate due to long heavy spell of rains in lower regions.

The Atal Tunnel and Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur were cut off from rest of the world due to snowfall and heavy rain.
The traffic in upper Shimla remains disrupted. Giri Ganga in Kotkhai and Chaila and Sainj was in spate. So was the case with the other rivers, a rare phenomenon in month of February. There is no relent from rains toll 1040 AM.
But the rains and snow have come as a big relief to farmers power producers and all ending the month long drought brightening the prospect of good crops including apple crop.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy snowfall in districts including Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, and Chamba. This alert is in effect until 5:30 PM IST today.

Kufri and Narkanda have also reported fresh snowfall. Kufri is currently experiencing cloudy conditions with temperatures at 40°F (4°C). Rain is expected throughout the day, transitioning to a couple of morning showers tomorrow, followed by partly sunny and warmer conditions.
Rainfall in Shimla and Surrounding Areas
Shimla city and its surrounding regions are witnessing heavy and windy rainfall. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in Shimla district, advising residents to remain vigilant. Current conditions in Shimla are overcast with temperatures around 42°F (6°C). Periods of rain are expected throughout the day, with a high of 47°F (8°C). Rainfall is anticipated to continue into the evening, with temperatures dropping to 42°F (5°C).
