Dehradun/Almora: Continuing its crackdown under the ‘Drugs-Free Devbhoomi’ अभियान, Almora police arrested two drug peddlers during a checking drive near Lodhiya on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Deepak Mehta and Harshit Bhandari, both residents of Almora.

 

Police recovered 21.49 grams of smack from their possession, estimated to be worth around ₹6.50 lakh in the illegal market. The arrests were made during routine vehicle and suspect checking when the duo was intercepted on suspicion.

 

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and possible links with larger drug networks.

 

Senior police officials said the अभियान against narcotics will continue with strict enforcement to make Devbhoomi drug-free.
