This was confirmed by Shimla Mayor Surinder Chauhan during the monthly meeting of the Shimla Municipal Corporation, attended by Municipal Commissioner Bhupinder Atri and local councillors.

According to Mayor Chauhan, the statue will be placed at Daulat Singh Park on The Ridge, positioned between the statues of Himachal's first Chief Minister, Dr. YS Parmar, and Lieutenant General Daulat Singh.

This decision fulfills a long-standing demand of Virbhadra Singh’s supporters, residents of Shimla, and his son, Vikramaditya Singh, who serves as the state's PWD Minister.

In addition, the Shimla Municipal Corporation announced plans to mark yellow lines along the city roads for parking.

Vehicle owners will be charged a nominal fee for using these designated spaces.

However, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has refused to allow yellow lines on the National Highway passing through the city, stating it would violate their guidelines.

The Municipal Corporation has not yet clarified if they will proceed with marking the highway section within Shimla limits.
