Kullu: Landslide buries houses in Akhara Bazar, one dead, six still missing
Akhara Bazar in Kullu town was rocked by a fresh tragedy when a massive landslide buried two houses, trapping several people inside.
The body of a woman has been recovered, but six more — most of them from Kashmir — are feared trapped under the debris.
Rescue teams, led by the ZRF, are battling to clear the rubble and trace the missing.
The white-topped house and two adjoining homes were reduced to rubble in seconds.
This is the second big landslide disaster in the region within days.
Earlier, seven people lost their lives at Jangam Bagh near Sundar Nagar when a landslide swallowed homes and even a moving vehicle. Among the dead was Youth Congress leader Rahul Mandial.
Meanwhile, the administration has sounded an urgent advisory: avoid unnecessary travel, stay alert to falling boulders, and drive cautiously in landslide-prone stretches.
