CM Sukhvinder Sukhu chairs high-level meeting, issues strict instructions to officials

Following the successful completion of ‘Operation Sindoor’ by the Indian Armed Forces, the Himachal Pradesh government has gone into full alert mode.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to review the state’s security, transport, health, communication, and disaster management systems.
In a major decision, he directed mock drills to be conducted in high-footfall areas like Shimla’s Mall Road.
Congratulating the Indian Armed Forces for their bravery and precision, CM Sukhu said, “This is not just a military success, but a reassurance of safety for every citizen. The entire nation is proud of our brave soldiers.”
Taking serious note of post-operation national preparedness, the Chief Minister issued detailed guidelines to all District Collectors and Superintendents of Police.
He stressed the need for heightened ground-level vigilance, improved emergency response mechanisms, and uninterrupted supply of essentials like food, power, and medicine.
Key officials including Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, and Director General of Police Dr. Atul Verma attended the meeting.
According to sources, mock drills will soon be conducted at the Shimla Ridge, Mall Road, and ISBTs to test readiness in case of emergencies.
What is Operation Sindoor?
‘Operation Sindoor’ was a recently concluded covert mission led by the Indian Armed Forces that successfully neutralized a major threat to national security operating from Pakistan and PoK.
Its success has triggered security reviews across several states, including Himachal Pradesh.
