RailTel to Equip 5,500 Himachal Schools with Printers and UPS Systems
Shimla: In a big push for digital learning, RailTel Corporation of India has bagged a major contract worth Rs 15.96 crore from Himachal Pradesh's Samagra Shiksha department to supply printers and UPS systems to over 5,500 government schools across the state.
The project aims to upgrade basic digital infrastructure in classrooms, ensuring that schools in even remote areas can function smoothly during power cuts.
The contract is part of a broader effort to modernize education under the government’s digital push.
RailTel, a PSU under the Railway Ministry, will execute the order by October 6, 2025. The company’s stock saw a small jump after news of the deal broke, buoyed by this and another large order from Indian Railways.
“This is not just about machines, it's about enabling students to access better, uninterrupted learning,” said an education department official.
