Temperatures have dropped across Himachal Pradesh, with rain expected to continue in parts of the state and snow possible at higher elevations

SHIMLA, October 11 — Widespread rain brought Shimla its first sharp winter chill of the season on Sunday, with temperatures falling across Himachal Pradesh, including the apple-growing belt and lower districts.

Snow is possible in higher reaches if temperatures and precipitation conditions become favourable, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall over Himachal Pradesh on October 13 and 14. A western disturbance is also likely to affect northwest India during the week, with another system expected during October 15–21.

The weather shift could affect apple harvesting, mountain travel and outdoor activity as farmers, tourists and residents prepare for colder and unsettled conditions.
