Shimla/ Delhi, 22 April 2025 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) dropped its much‑awaited Civil Services Examination 2025 finale today, and a woman’s on top of the pile yet again.

Girl power continues: Shakti Dubey’s AIR‑1 keeps the women‑on‑top streak alive, making it four female toppers in the last five years.

Originally from Balia from Bihar Shakti and her patents are settled in Prayag Raj in UP, the pilgrimage hub of India.

Himachal’s own success story: DAV New Shimla Shimla alumnus Vaibhav Singh—originally from Bilaspur—cracked the exam and bags an IAS berth, giving the hill state another reason to cheer.

"We are proud of Vaibhav, who has cracked the IAS in his very first attempt at a very young age as he is our 2019 batch student, saud Leena Chauhan, his class teacher at DAV New Shimla.

He has called me  and we are all thrilled and in celebration and Vaibhav will turn out to be good officer, she adds.

There is another woman candidate, Ayushi Thakur   who hails from Junga Shimla who made it to the IRS.

The shining of these candidates has come as an inspiration for the youth of Himachal who dream of making it to the Civil Services.

Numbers game: 1,009 candidates made the final cut for IAS, IPS, IFS and Group A/B services this year.

“Toppers may change every year, but grit doesn’t. UPSC just rewarded it—big time.”

So, hats off to Shakti for leading the charge, a fist‑bump to the entire Top‑5, who msde to top skot by attempting the examination for the fourth time

So try and try again you will succeed at last

And a special pahadi high‑five to Bilaspur’s very own Vaibhav Singh  and Shimla's Ayushi.

The real climb—bureaucratic Everest—starts now.
