Good News for Fund-Starved Himachal: SJVN Hands Over Rs. 121.33 Cr Interim Dividend to GoHP

In a much-needed boost to Himachal Pradesh's cash-strapped coffers, public sector giant SJVN has paid an interim dividend of Rs. 121.33 crore to the state government for the financial year 2024-25.
The dividend cheque was handed over to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla today by SJVN’s Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma.
Also present on the occasion was Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister, Anirudh Singh.
Director Sharma informed that SJVN has declared a total interim dividend of Rs. 451.93 crore for FY 2024-25. Out of this, Rs. 248.55 crore has been paid to the Government of India, Rs. 121.33 crore to the Himachal government, and Rs. 82.05 crore to public shareholders.
The Government of Himachal Pradesh currently holds a 26.85% stake in the company, while the Centre owns 55%, and the remaining 18.15% is with public shareholders.
SJVN, a Navratna CPSE, is currently handling 95 power projects across India and Nepal, spanning hydro, solar, wind, thermal, and pumped storage verticals.
With an installed capacity of 2,708.27 MW and a massive project portfolio of 66,107.4 MW, the company is eyeing an ambitious target of 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
