St. Edward’s School, Shimla, completed a historic milestone on Saturday as it celebrated its centenary Senior School Annual Function under the banner of Festivista 2025.
The celebrations were marked by the presence of Inspector General of Police, Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau, Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Bimal Gupta, an alumnus of the 1989 batch, who planted a tree on the campus to symbolise the school’s enduring legacy and growth.
The function opened with the ceremonial flag entry, school anthem, and March Past by NCC cadets. Naik Mangal Man Gurung of 4/1 Gurkha Rifles was felicitated for his support to the institution.
A cultural programme showcased the school’s 100-year journey, with the thematic presentation “Yugam – A Spectrum of Time” tracing the legacy of Edwardians through music, dance, and theatre. The performance left the audience spellbound.
In his address, Mr. Gupta recalled his school days and urged students to live by the Edwardian values of discipline, service, and integrity. Principal Fr. Anil Sequeira felicitated the Chief Guest and credited students, teachers, and alumni for carrying the Edwardian spirit through the century.
The event concluded with the resounding Edwardian slogan — “Hail St. Edward’s!” — marking the close of a century-long journey and the beginning of a new chapter in the school’s history.
