BJP tears into Sukhu govt ahead of 3-year mark
Shimla, Wednesday:
As the Sukhu government approaches its three-year milestone on December 11, the BJP on Wednesday launched a full-frontal offensive, accusing the Congress of reducing Himachal Pradesh to “economic bankruptcy, lawlessness and administrative paralysis.”
Addressing the media in Shimla, BJP state president Dr. Rajiv Bindal said the past three years under the Congress rule have been “the worst in the history of Himachal Pradesh.”
‘Three years of ruin’: Bindal lists failures
Bindal said the government’s tenure can be summed up as:
-
“Three years of youth unemployment”
-
“Three years of economic collapse and mounting debt”
-
“Three years of murders, robberies, ransom threats and mafia raj”
-
“Three years of collapsed schools, colleges, hospitals and veterinary services”
-
“Three years of nepotism and system failure”
He said that despite the Congress celebrating its three-year tenure, the reality on the ground is that employees are not receiving salaries, pensioners are struggling, and even retired staff are being denied medical reimbursements.
Bindal also accused the government of shutting down or stalling welfare schemes such as the Sahara scheme, Gehani Suvidha, Shagun Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Swavalamban, while outsourced employees “barely got enough to survive.”
‘Disaster Act being misused’
The BJP chief alleged that the government is using the Disaster Act as a “tool of convenience” to delay municipal elections, claiming that the state is being pushed into administrative chaos.
Jai Ram Thakur: ‘Bihar verdict has shown Congress its future’
Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said the recent Bihar verdict has “shown the Congress its real place,” claiming the party has been “reduced to a non-existent political force.”
Thakur said the Congress leadership has spent months “trying to weave false narratives,” but the public has rejected them across states.
He declared that the BJP will hold a massive protest rally in Dharamshala on December 4 at Zorawar Singh Stadium to “expose the hollow claims of the Sukhu government.”
‘People will come out on the streets now’
Thakur warned that the government’s three-year performance has been so poor that “people will now come out on the streets because this government has lost the moral right to stay in power.”
Bindal added that the BJP’s rally will “raise the voice of Himachal’s people” and present the “real picture of suffering and neglect.”
